Emojis are just text characters, meaning they can be added to text fields the same way text is added. Below are a number of way to add Emojis to any text area you desire, both on mobile as well as on Apple and Windows computers.

Copy / Pasting Emojis

The easiest way to input an Emoji into a text area on a computer is to copy the desired Emoji from a site (here's one). Once there, highlight the Emoji you're after (just like you'd highlight text), then right-click and 'Copy' or 'Ctrl + C', then right-click and 'Paste' or 'Ctrl + V' back where you want to input it.

If you're using a PC (Windows)

To access Emoji options on a PC (Windows), first place your mouse curser in the text field where you'd like to place an Emoji, then use the keyboard shortcut 'Windows Key + ; (semicolon)". It will display like so:

If you're using a Mac (Apple)

To access Emoji options on a Mac, first place your mouse curser in the text field where you'd like to place an Emoji, then use the keyboard shortcut 'Command + Control + Spacebar'. It will display like so:

If you're using a mobile device (iOS / Android)

Adding Emojis from your mobile device is as simple as tapping the Emoji button (usually a smiley face) from your keyboard (Apple's is shown below), then selecting your desired Emoji.
